After graduating from Yale Law School in 2012, Katherine Oberembt moved to the Bluff City and began a career defending the people of Memphis and Shelby County. For more than a decade, she has represented clients charged with all levels of criminal offenses, with a particular focus on serious felony charges, including First Degree Murder.

In 2026, Katherine rejoined the Shelby County Public Defender as supervising attorney of the Major cases Team.
